Bio

I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. Prior to coming to Kaiser I worked in a variety of settings providing counseling for individuals, couples, and families. For many years I have specialized in working with women’s issues. Most recently I worked specifically with pregnant and parenting women, supporting them in making positive changes in their lives.

In working in the OB/GYN department it is my goal to offer a safe, respectful and supportive space for women to discuss having the healthiest pregnancy and healthiest baby possible. When you come in for an appointment with me you will find that I have information, support and resources to offer on many different topics including, stress management, anxiety and depression (during and after pregnancy), substance exposure in pregnancy, positive self-care, parenting, and relationship issues. During your visit(s) with me I invite you to share any thoughts and feelings that you are having about your pregnancy, being a parent, your relationships or anything else that may be on your mind. Appointments with me are another opportunity for you to have specialized and individual care during your journey through pregnancy and parenting.

Please feel free to call me with any questions. I look forward to providing you with as much support as possible during this special time.

My Medical Specialty

More details about my specialty:

I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Psychology in 1996 from Santa Clara University. In 1998 I moved to the mid-west and attended graduate school at Purdue University. It was there that I earned my Master's degree in Child Development and Family Studies, specializing in Marriage and Famly Therapy. Since then I have expanded my skills in many areas including substance abuse treatment, mind-body work, women's issues, pregnancy and parenting, healing from trauma and treatment of anxiety and depression. I recieved my license as a Marriage and Family Therapist in 2006.

Interests

Family & Friends

People in my life:

I am very grateful to have many very wonderful people in my life. My husband is creative, intelligent and (luckily for me) very good at fixing things. I am very close with my wonderful family and spend time with them as often as possible. I also have amazing friends that I appreciate tremendously.

My pets:

We have two cats that are extremely important members of our family. They bring me endless amounts of joy and entertainment.

Travel

An adventure I've had:

Because I do not drive, traveling always means getting to spend time with people I care about. I enjoy going places that I have been to many times just as much as traveling to someplace new. Be it a trip to Healdsburg or Hawaii, I'll likely enjoy the experience.
